Whitney Brook Farm is a beautiful property consisting of 150 acres in Wilmot, NH. The rolling hills and incredible forest drew us in immediately and the thought of it becoming a housing development made us cringe. We feel as if we have rescued the land and now have the immense responsibility of restoring it to its highest and best use, tending to the land using naturally organic methods. Scott Niemyer (our Farm Manager and I got started by taking the New Farmers School course through UNH extension – virtually of course) and learned so much that our heads were filled with new ideas and with the confidence to start our grand experiment together. The instructors of the course have all been so helpful and have come to our farm to share their expertise on how we should address different parts of our new farm – starting with the soil up to the placement of our new barn. They’ve been a fantastic help to us!
